Age gap is not a big issue but in your case there seems to be big gap which might take you to some kind of problem later in future. So before going ahead on buying gifts and getting closer you must think twice about your future. Such type of relationship will not last for long.

I think as a woman she will be bothered by the age gap. I think this may also cause problems for you both in the future,she will always look down upon you as she will think she’s had more experience in life. I guess a way of explainign the age gap would be , "look at how many couples get together nowadays with 10year age gaps etc. It’s not a problem!" .. even though i disagree :L

Why do you want to avoid the age issue? It is a valid topic for discussion! Especially if she is uncomfortable with it. I know I would be embarrassed to date someone so much younger.
