What a great dating question:
Question: I’ve been dating this girl from Sri Lanka for a while and just came to learn that her parents don’t want her to date a Black man. I am really feeling her but I don’t want to get between her and her parents. Is there a way to get her parents to accept that I genuinely love their daughter, or will this be a lost cause? I would really like to hear from people that have been through this and can offer sound advice.

Answer: That is terrible for her parents to think that way and to force it on her. If you limit yourself to only the people of your color you are missing out on a world of beautiful people. Would it help to meet with her parents and ask why they think that way. Tell them its hurtful to you. If they got to know you a little everything will be okay.
Unless your gf is amazingly strong and ready to rebel against her parents, it is a lost cause. Sorry, best of luck. There is no way to change stupid racist people like that.
I would just stick with her and be respectful to her and the parents. They’ll eventually come around. And in all likelihood, the daughter and the parents had issues even before you came into the picture so I really wouldn’t worry about it too much
it depends on how old she is. if she is an adult then it,s up to her who she wants to date. but say you both are like 16 or 17 then i,am sorry, i have to be on her parents side on this.
it really touched me the way you don’t want to get between her and her parents, i don’t know any guy who would do that. well, if you really love her, you should respect to her parents opinion even though that thought is unforgivably rude. because other wise she would have some serious problems and its not something your gf can solve. so i’d say tell her that you love her and tell it to her parents too and ask for their permission. if they give the permission, its perfect. but if they don’t, then do the right thing and again remind that you love her but you guys should break up.
